Sikh Gallery Lahore Fort

This gallery is consisting over a hall room of Rani Jindan Haveli built in Sikh period in (1833-34). Mostly the paintings on display are of Sikh ruler of Punjab. Maharaja Ranjit Singh his son Kharak Singh, Sher Singh and Dalip Singh are on display mostly the oil painting are painted by the European painters, August Theodor Schoeffi, Lisly Pool Smith and others. The important paintings are of Autust, Schoeffl, who was Hungarian painter at the court of Maharaja Sher Singh in 1841. There painting were the personal belonging of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and his family.
Princess Bamba was the daughter of Dalip Singh and granddaughter of Ranjit Singh, She died in Lahore in 1957 and buried at Christian graveyard at Gulberg. These paintings and other artifacts of Sikh era gives the whole picture of Sikh dynasty. These paintings were also remained with Dalip Singh when he spent an exiled life in England.
